A 57-year-old male faces drug-related charges after members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act at his home on Meadowbrook Road in Sydney Mines.

On Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at approximately 10:00 PM, police arrived at the residence and as a result of their search, located a Marijuana grow operation.  Terry Patrick Brophy was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Marijuana and the Production of Marijuana.  He was released on a Promise to Appear in Provincial Court on September 21, 2011.

Police also seized several Marijuana plants and equipment used for the cultivation of Marijuana.
