Popular Officers assigned to the HRP / RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have laid charges in connection with a domestic-related incident on Friday.


On Friday, July 1, 2011 at 4 am, police were called to the Dartmouth General Hospital after Security stopped a 58-year-old man attempting to enter the hospital with a knife, a hammer and a bat.  The man began struggling with Security and was arrested by police when they arrived.  The investigators allege that the man attended the hospital with the intention of causing harm to his 55-year-old wife and her two adult children.

As a result of the investigation, the man faces three counts of attempted murder and three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
