As part of an on-going investigation, officers assigned to the HRP / RCMP Integrated Drug Unit have made two significant drug seizures. The first incident took place on June 22 at 4:26 p.m. when officers observed a drug transaction taking place on Parker Street in Dartmouth.They conducted a traffic stop and two men were arrested without incident. Officers seized approximately 12 lbs. of marijuana as well as hashish, a significant quantity of cash and other items used in the sale of drugs. The street value of the drugs is approximately $54,000.Forty-year-old Colin Andrew Cochrane of Windsor and 25-year-old Jeremy Ian Peckford of Halifax each face two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. They were scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court yesterday.As a result of the first arrest, officers searched a residence on Parker Street on June 23 at 3:21 p.m. Officers seized approximately 14 lbs. of marijuana and other items used in the sale of drugs. A 42-year-old Dartmouth man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on August 3, 2011.Drug activity often involves violence that is detrimental to the overall safety of our communities. The HRP / RCMP Integrated Drug Unit investigates complaints and targets people involved in the purchase and sale of drugs.
