Six people face charges in connection with three separate incidents involving graffiti. There were two incidents yesterday where the Rails to Trails pathway goes under North West Arm Drive and in both cases people were caught spray-painting the overpass. The first incident took place at approximately 4 p.m. and involved a 22-year-old Middle Sackville man. The second incident took place at 7:47 p.m. and involved two male youths, aged 15 and 16, from Halifax.The third incident occurred at 12:55 a.m. this morning in the 100 block of Woodlawn Road in Dartmouth. In this case, one 16-year-old and two 17-year-old male youths from Dartmouth were caught spray-painting a business at that location.In all three cases, calls from the public led to the arrests and Halifax Regional Police thanks the citizens who called police. The six individuals all face charges of property damage and are scheduled to appear in court at later dates.Spreading graffiti is a crime, and its presence can impact our community’s reputation, property values, and citizens’ sense of pride and safety.
