On Friday, June 17, 2011 at 9:20 p.m., officers assigned to the West and Central Quick Response Units (QRU) observed a man in a car engage in what they believed to be drug transactions. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 block of the Bedford Highway and the driver was arrested. A near-by residence was secured and a search pursuant to a warrant was conducted at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday by officers with the QRU, the HRP/RCMP Integrated Drug Unit and the HRP/RCMP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Officers seized a handgun and ammunition as well as a quantity of crack cocaine, ecstasy and cash. A female resident returned to the apartment while officers were there and she was arrested without incident.Thirty-nine-year-old Colin Nicolas Paris and 34-year-old Krista Langille, both of Halifax, are scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today. They both face charges of drug possession and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as multiple weapons related offences.
