A man faces charges in connection with a sexual assault that took place Sunday evening in Shubie Park.
On Sunday, June 12, 2011 at approximately 8 pm, a 19-year-old woman was jogging in Shubie Park near a field and bridge. She passed a man who was walking in the opposite direction and was grabbed from behind, forced into the woods and sexually assaulted. As a result of on-going public pressure, a man turned himself in at 7:40 p.m. last night at Police Headquarters.
A 19-year-old Dartmouth man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of sexual assault, uttering threats and forcible confinement.
