One person faces charges, and police are looking for two more suspects in connection with a robbery that took place in Dartmouth over the weekend.
On Saturday, June 11, 2011 at approximately 10:20 pm, police responded to the area of the Dartmouth Commons for a weapons call. Upon arrival police located a 21-year-old man who had been assaulted and robbed. According to witnesses, several males approached the victim and asked for money before they assaulted him and took his wallet. Investigators believe robbery was the motive for the incident and the victim was specifically targeted. He was taken to hospital with significant facial injuries.
As a result of the efforts by officers assigned to Patrol and the HRP / RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, a 16-year-old male youth was arrested yesterday without incident. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court today to face charges of robbery and two counts of breach of probation. Police are currently looking for two other male youths in connection with this incident.
