Investigators in the Integrated HRP / RCMP General Investigation Section have laid charges against one man in relation to this morning’s assault at an apartment building on Victoria Road in Dartmouth.

On Friday, June 10, 2011 at approximately 7:50 am, Halifax police responded to a call of an injured person at an apartment building in the 200 block of Victoria Road.  Upon arrival, officers found a man lying in a hallway of the building suffering from injuries sustained during an assault.  The 51-year-old Dartmouth man was transported to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be life-threatening head injuries.  A man and two women, who are known to the injured man, were taken into custody at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, it is believed the victim was invited to the apartment and was then assaulted by the other man.  Thirty-six-year-old Lee Corey Elliott of Dartmouth has been remanded for the weekend and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday to face a charge of aggravated assault.  The two women were released without charges.
