A youth who was shot Saturday morning was arrested at the hospital for an outstanding warrant in relation to an incident last month in Halifax.
A 17-year-old male from Timberlea attended the QEII hospital at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday for treatment of a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. At this time, investigators have not been able to confirm the details of the incident that were provided by the victim. An officer at the hospital recognized the youth as having an outstanding warrant for robbery, threats, kidnapping, forcible confinement, intimidation, assault, assault with a weapon and a number of other weapons-related charges in connection with an incident on April 26 at the Seasons Motor Inn.
He was subsequently arrested, treated for his injury and will be appearing in Halifax Youth Court today.
