On Saturday, September 4, 2010 Shortly after 2:30 PM, RCMP responded to a call regarding an adult male who had been pulled from the water in Blind Bay, Near Bayside - Nova Scotia.

When police arrived on scene, the man was unresponsive. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.  Earlier in the day, a boat had come loose from its mooring.  The man and another male went out to secure the vessel.  The victim drowned when he was attempting to swim back to shore.

The victim has been identified as 54-year old Johnny Mitchell Jr. from Bayside, Nova Scotia.
