On Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 1:05 am,  HRP responded to a sudden death call at 11 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (Chocolate Lake).

Information received that 4 persons were swimming at the beach when a 21 year old, Halifax male went under the water in distress. HRM Fire boat and EHS also attended. The RCMP underwater dive team was called in and the victim was recovered from the water at 5:10 am.
