On Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 9:19 pm, the Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report that a male was full of blood and laying on the front step of a residence at 223 James Street, New Waterford.
When the police arrived the male was found inside the residence, the 65 year old male victim, had been assaulted by at least two other males and received multiple injuries to his face and upper body.
The victim was transported to the Regional Hospital in New Waterford and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The victim will be kept at the hospital for further treatment and tests.
The police have names of witnesses and possible suspects, the investigation of the assault will continue by the General Investigation Section of the Regional Police.
