27 Yr Old Male Killed in Motorcycle Accident in Lower Sackville

On Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 6:21 PM, Members of the RCMP - Halifax District responded to a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Highway 101 / Bedford Bypass in Lower Sackville.

The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Highway 101 when it went off the roadway and impacted with the guard rail. The 27 year old male rider was transported to the QE2 where he was pronounced dead.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Reconstructionist was called out to assist with the investigation and investigators remained on scene until 9:00 pm At this time, it is unknown if speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash and the matter remains under investigation.The rider's name is not being released at this time pending next of kin notification.
