On Friday, August 21, 2010 at approximately 1:30 am, Cape Breton Regional Police received a report that a male had attempted to rob a Sydney Cab driver in Membertou.

The cab driver was sprayed with an irritant and the suspect fled the scene. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect description: aboriginal male, approximate age late teens early twenties, height 6 ft, slim build, short dark hair, wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and carrying a red jacket.

The attempted robbery is being investigated by the General Investigation Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Police Service.
