On Thursday, July 22 in the early morning, members of the RCMP North East Nova Federal Drug Section and the Street Crime Enforcement Unit executed search warrants at a garage and residence on Dolorosa Drive in Antigonish and seized approximately sixty (60) pounds of hash oil.
It is believed that the hash oil was destined for distribution within the province. Staff Sergeant Roddie Macdonald, Coordinator for the RCMP Federal Drug Section in Nova Scotia says, “We are extremely pleased that through the work of our units the drugs were seized before they could make their way onto our streets. This was a significant amount of hash oil that would have had a very negative impact on the community.”
Charges are pending against a man that was arrested at the scene and the investigation is continuing.
The RCMP Federal Drug units are dedicated enforcement teams which successfully dismantle trafficking operations, and work closely with local law enforcement, community and businesses to target these types of operations throughout the province. The RCMP encourage anyone with information on drug trafficking in their community to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
